Gold foil notes with the various characters on them contains a minimal amount of 24K gold and are intended solely for entertainment purposes to enhance the hobbyist’s personal collection. Goldbacks are different from gold foil notes and are legal tender and currently available in Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming and South Dakota.
Goldbacks are used as voluntary local currency and accepted by many businesses at face value in those states. Goldbacks are available by special request.
