Silver also known as fine silver is a precious metal and consists of 99.9% pure silver. Sterling silver will be marked 925 which represents that it is 92.5% silver and 7.5% of a different metal. Sterling silver adds additional metal(s) to make it more durable.

Spot represents the value of the precious metal alone based on 1 oz. Bullion coins will get you closer to the spot pricing. There are many contributing factors that increases the value of a coin (e.g., grading, errors, year, government issued, design imprinted on the coin, etc.).
The mint varies for the different coins and are indicated on the coin.
